Freshly Fallen Snow

I decided to take my camera for a hike before going into work to shoot some images of the virgin snow.  I drove up into Big Cottonwood Canyon, strapped on my snowshoes, slung my camera around my neck, and trudged up the first trail I could find.

I'm glad I had recently learned how to properly custom set my white balance. My initial shots, using auto white balance, were drab  and had a blue haze to them. So I took a photo of just snow, used that image to set my white balance data, switched my settings to "custom white balance", and VWALA!! All the shots I took after that showed the rich contract between the white snow and the dark colored tree.

Castle Rocks State Park: The Green Wall

The Green Wall is a nicely featured bouldering wall that it secretly tucked away on the north end of Castle Rocks State Park, ID. I joined my team of co-workers on a evening bouldering session to this wall for the first time and was able to capture some quick shots of some of them trying to stick the moves for the V5 warm-up.

China Cave - Logan Canyon - Logan, UT

I did some reactive photography the other day as I was climbing with some friends at the China Cave in Logan Canyon, UT. The lighting was poor, but I was able to get a couple good looking shots. Better luck next time.

Luckily, one of my climbing partners picked up my camera and shot a couple pics as I took my turn climbing. Thanks Matt.

Old Footage Makes For Great Training

I have been scouring through my harddrives in an attempt to organize all my old photo and video files. At the same time, I'm working on getting more familiar with my iMovie upgrade from '06 to '11.

So I have decided to make use of some of this old footage and make them somewhat presentable. There is a lot of unscripted footage, footage that I just shot at random moments for no real reason but to capture the moment.

These future videos that I'll be making will help me a ton as I explore all the new features in the current version of iMovie.

This little vid is of a friend of mine as he climbs a very fun route called Zealot in St George, UT.
